kjames on Keyboards
Hello! Welcome to my website. I have been playing keyboards on and off since the age of 4, and played professionally in rock bands in the tri-state area for 15+ years. I was trained classically and have a Bachelor’s degree in music, majoring in church organ.
Now I just play at home for fun, and while shut in over the pandemic was able to learn some new material. I recorded these live videos of my practice sessions over the course of a few days, so please forgive the odd wrong note or bad sound mix, I did not do any re-takes.
Some of the songs are not presented in their entirety, as I may only have learned the parts featuring keyboards (or even just a solo keyboard part).
My hope is that my family and friends will enjoy these, and maybe young piano or keyboard players may see these someday and be inspired to continue working hard at their lessons and perhaps venture back to learn some of this type of music themselves, as it is far more challenging than most rock music coming out today.
Enjoy the show! Go to the video page for videos of me playing along with the all time great keyboard and synthesizer players of the progressive rock era like Keith Emerson, Eddie Jobson, Rick Wakeman and Tony Banks. The sound and experience will be much better through your home theater system.
